The Opportunity Our team is looking to add a dedicated Electrical Project Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) in Calgary, AB to support the design development and execution of maintenance capital projects for Natural Gas Compression and/or Measurement facilities. We are seeking a curious and motivated early‑career engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and an interest in working in a multidisciplinary, team‑based environment. This role provides hands‑on experience supporting electrical engineering design activities while collaborating closely with experienced engineers, Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), and project stakeholders to support safe, efficient, and well‑integrated project execution. What you’ll do Apply and follow TC Energy’s Practice of Engineering (POE), applicable codes, standards, and internal requirements Execute electrical engineering tasks for maintenance capital projects, working within multidisciplinary teams and under appropriate technical oversight Contribute to and/or support project scope development, including site visits and constructability considerations Develop, review, and coordinate engineering design deliverables, including internal designs and third‑party design packages, aligned with experience level Prepare or contribute to engineering input for bidding documents, technical requirements, and ESP deliverables Interface with Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) to support or lead reviews of assigned technical deliverables Participate in engineering, client, and HAZOP reviews, providing discipline‑specific technical input Identify and review equipment design requirements, layouts, and specifications for compression and/or measurement facilities Support the material procurement process, including review of requisitions and vendor documentation Provide technical input during construction and commissioning, including responding to RFIs and providing site support as required Contribute to engineering close‑out activities, including redlines, as‑built documentation, and equipment data capture Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lessons learned, root cause analyses, and quality processes

Minimum Qualifications

Recent graduate with minimum 1-4 years of relevant experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent with relevant experience Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as an Engineer in Training (EIT) Some relevant engineering experience (e.g., co-op, internship, or early career roles); experience levels and responsibility will align with demonstrated capability Foundational knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) design; experience in energy infrastructure, compression, or measurement facilities is an asset Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and specifications related to natural gas pipelines and compressor stations (e.g., CSA Z662, ASME B31.3), or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge Ability
