About the Role
We are seeking a licensed Journeyman to support machine builds and system integration for custom automation equipment. This role is responsible for interpreting electrical schematics, organizing and executing machine wiring, panel builds, and ensuring compliance with NEC and customer standards. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready automation systems in a structured manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review electrical layouts and schematics provided by engineering and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and execute cable management plans including power routing, wire paths, and cable tray layout.
- Mount and wire electrical panels and complete system wiring within automation cells.
- Identify and install appropriate electrical components required to power the system.
- Assist with electrical inspections and support validation of machine functions, voltages, and certifications.
- Diagnose issues and repair or replace malfunctioning electrical components.
- Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and required adjustments.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures, NEC standards, and company requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support offsite installations and assist in planning electrical work for installs.
- Provide input to engineering and design teams regarding machine functionality, safety, and layout.
- Participate in design reviews and project meetings to support build accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate regularly with project teams regarding progress, risks, and outstanding work.
- Support coordination of contractors onsite and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure assigned Stage Plan responsibilities are understood and completed.
- Active Journeyman Electrician license (required).
- Master Electrician license is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, machine wiring, and industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of NEC standards and safety regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a manufacturing or automation environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Ability and expectation to travel within the United States and to Canada as required to support project installations and commissioning.
- Must possess own tools, including standard hand tools.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
