The Machine Automation Technician will provide day-to-day technical issue resolution and drive continuous improvement activity.
This position is 100% in person.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Business Unit Leader in leading the team in pursuit of company and team goals from a technical standpoint as it relates to safety, quality, delivery & cost.
- Assisting with training and skill development of team members with the Business Unit Leader.
- Develop an understanding of the cost for manufacturing, including tooling, equipment, etc., and develop action plans for cost and productivity improvements.
- Leads all root cause & corrective action activities in conjunction with Production Quality Engineer. Ensure that technical problem-solving tools are being used effectively within the assigned Business Unit.
- Assists with maintaining production by operating a machine when needed.
- Serve as back-up Business Unit Leader as needed.
- Manage projects assigned by management to assure on time and within budget completions.
- Initiate and/or oversee continuous improvement
- Create work instructions and misc. documentation for machines and provide necessary training as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High degree of mechanical skills, including 3-5 years of hands-on machine building experience and familiarity with a manufacturing environment.
- General understanding of servo motors, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulics, mechanical systems, automation build and troubleshooting of these items.
- Basic computer knowledge (i.e. Microsoft office, PLEX, ERP, etc.)
- Ability to read blueprints, and understanding GD&T.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- B.S. degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or industrial engineering, or Journeyman Machine Builder status.
