Position Summary:

As a Systems Project Specialist, you will coordinate the successful delivery and deployment of Material Handling Systems and Automation projects sold to customers. A previous experience with project support of construction-based product will be an advantage for someone in this role.

Your project management skills, coupled with your communication, organization and coordination skills will be critical to your success in this position. You will be responsible for working on multiple project execution of the Automated systems. Building relationships with your internal departments and vendor will further deepen your network to meet the challenges of projects delivery on budget and on time. You will onboard new customers and provide post technical support to these programs to ensure customers are competent and utilize the system effectively.

  • Track project costs within a project management applications
  • Coordinate hardware installation,
  • Software implementation,
  • Delivery, installation and
  • Ensure satisfactory operation of hardware/software system to customers.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Manage sub-contractors as part of the project, including health and safety, insurance, budget, billing and invoicing, and project completion

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering;
  • Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Must have experience managing automation projects with multiple disciplinary teams.
  • Must have a proven track record of coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and construction team.
  • Must have acted in a project management role with a minimum of five years’ experience in a variety of projects/markets on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must have a practical working knowledge of robots, PLC’s, instrumentation or other machine controls packages, sensors and pneumatics.
  • An ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential

Additional Qualifications

Education

  • Project Management Institue Accreditation or in progress is required
  • College or University graduate is required
  • Training in Lean/CI Methodologies an asset is required

Skills

  • Manage sub-contractors as part of the project, including health and safety, insurance, budget, billing and invoicing, and project completion
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a cross-functional project management role
  • Experienced in managing full project life-cycle
  • It's essential that project managers have strong analytical and organizational skills so that they can delegate tasks, motivate colleagues and manage stakeholder priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Technical: familiarity and experience with project management and software including advanced functions
  • Multitasking: requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • 2-4 year’s experience in project management, with preference given to candidates with installation project experience is required
