JOB SUMMARY Cross Automation is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our integration team! Our team works with a wide range of technologies and control platforms to develop automation solutions for customers in a variety of industries including food & beverage, consumer products, automotive, and medical devices.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and troubleshooting control systems for industrial automation applications, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, and drives. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customers' satisfaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Industrial control experience and knowledge in one or more of the following is preferred: PLC programming (Allen Bradley required, Siemens, Omron, others advantageous) Robotics programming (UR and Fanuc advantageous) Control system design including electrical components specification Machine and motion control HMI design IIoT and networking Machine safety Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or Associate's degree and equivalent experience REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES Collaborate with sales, engineers, project managers, and production team to ensure project success Must be flexible as well as willing and ableto maintain multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt quickly and maintain a positive attitude Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS The work environment varies from typical office environment to plant site environment Available to travel up to 30% of the time depending on work assignments, typically via automobile but occasional plane travel may be required Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.

Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the plant site area. Could involve long periods of computer work. Able to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling above, under and around machinery, equipment occasionally and includes reaching, handling, touching grasping machine parts, controls, control panels, levers, and switches as needed.

Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms and scaffolding to diagnose/troubleshoot process and equipment occasionally. Ability to work in non-permit required spaces and at various heights using PPE as required. Physical effort required, continuous mental and visual attention required. The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection.

Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
