Responsibilities include overseeing electrical and control aspects of automation projects, including design calculations, load studies, electrical schematic development, control panel design, layouts, assembly, quality acceptance and commissioning.

The role includes PLC and PAC programming for project requirements, including I/O lists, sub-network communications, code development to Kraken Automation or user standard templates, virtual testing and commissioning.

The Controls Engineer develops OI/HMI user interfaces, including local operator interfaces, plant network computers, databases and custom user applications.

The role includes motion-control configuration for servo and stepper drive technologies, including motion analysis, profile setup, multiaxis initialization and commissioning for single or coordinated motion applications.

The engineer provides technical support on systems integration projects, sales or quotation preparation, and service-based tasks as directed by the engineering manager.

The role coordinates electrical and control-system designs with the mechanical design team and interfaces with customers throughout project development, including progress reporting, project change-order management, site control and training.

Candidates must live within close proximity of Burlington, Ontario to be considered. Controls experience outside of schooling is required, and the posting lists English language ability, a valid Canadian passport, and willingness to travel as requirements or preferences.

Job type: Full-time. Pay: $70,000-$90,000 per year. Benefits listed include casual dress, dental care, extended health care, life insurance, on-site parking and vision care. Work location: In person.
