Electrician / PLC Programmer - Nights

Magna Exteriors has an immediate opening for an Electrician / PLC Programmer - Nights in Woodbridge, Ontario. This is an industrial maintenance and automation role in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications The posting requires Industrial Trade certification as an Industrial Electrician and/or PLC certification, at least 5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience, PLC and programming experience, and the ability to create, manipulate, follow, repair, and modify robot programs for ABB, Fanuc, and Panasonic systems. Mig, Stick, and Tig welding experience is also listed, and candidates must be physically able to lift up to 50 lb.

Preferred additional qualifications include knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals, certification in one or more robot programming courses such as ABB, Fanuc, or Panasonic, robot troubleshooting experience, LabVIEW experience, overhead crane and forklift licences, and Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities Responsibilities include installing power-supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment such as robots, conveyors, programmable controllers, and relay-logic systems.

The role connects machinery power supplies, connects interface wiring between machinery and equipment, diagnoses transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, wiring, relays, switches, motors, sensing devices, printed circuit boards, and other electrical or electronic components, and repairs or replaces faulty components.

The role also plans wiring layouts, installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus, diagnoses and replaces mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on machines and equipment, performs maintenance and troubleshooting on presses, follows Mytox safety policies and procedures, communicates issues to supervisors or managers, cleans the work area and equipment at the end of the shift, and supports overtime or modified work hours when customer demand requires it.
