Job Description:
As an Industrial Robotics Engineer, you will be supporting Top Company objectives by advancing the automation and robotic capabilities of our plants and stations. You will play a critical role in supporting the industrial system ramp-up for existing programs and developing a robust, technology driven foundation for next gen Aircrafts.
The profile involves working within the Industrial Digital Mockup (iDMU) and Virtual Commissioning environments to design and deploy high-performance robotic systems. You will lead core technical activities including sensor-based perception, advanced path planning, and motion control to ensure seamless robotic integration within Industry 4.0 frameworks. Your expertise will bridge the gap between conceptual architecture and shop-floor execution that ensure our automated industrial systems are resilient, precise, and highly optimized.
The individual gets the opportunity to work on the entire spectrum of programs, from the existing Airbus aircraft fleet to future high-rate production systems.
Digital Manufacturing & Industry 4.0: Experience as a Robotics Engineer working on Industry 4.0 technologies to reach the ambition of a fully integrated Digital Twin. The scope of activities involves:
Manufacturing Cell Creation & Kinematics: Design and validate robotic cells within DELMIA/3DX, ensuring accurate kinematics and workspace optimization.
Advanced Path Planning & OLP: Execute complex path planning and Offline Programming (OLP) to ensure collision-free and efficient robotic motion.
Perception & AI: Implement computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion (LiDAR, 3D cameras) to enable real-time object recognition, part localization, and obstacle avoidance.
Virtual Commissioning: Lead the virtual commissioning of robotic systems to validate PLC logic and HMI interfaces before physical deployment, reducing lead times and risks.
Robotic Control & Systems Engineering:
Programming & Logic: Demonstrate competency in programming languages (C++, Python) to develop custom robotic applications and troubleshoot complex system behaviors.
Modeling & Simulation: Use specialized software (Matlab-Simulink, Open Modelica, ControlBuild) to model electro-mechanical devices and simulate dynamic system responses.
Industrial Communication: Implement PLC and HMI solutions, establishing robust communication protocols (TIA Portal, Simatic Manager) between robotic controllers and factory systems.
Hardware-in-the-Loop: Integrate real-time simulation with physical control hardware to ensure seamless vertical integration of the robotic stack.
Industrial Architecture & Project Leadership:
Technical Deliverables: Take ownership of work packages and lead technical reviews, ensuring robotic solutions meet the highest industrial standards.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate the exchange of technical data between internal and global stakeholders to drive architecture projects toward best performance.
Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain rigorous documentation of robotic application developments, version controls, and changes to ensure traceability and scalability.
Strategic Alignment: Align the robotics roadmap with the organization’s long-term business goals, capturing stakeholder needs to define architectural solutions that exceed expectations.
Domain Knowledge: Best to have Airbus product knowledge of different programs along with basic knowledge on Structural assembly and Systems design
It is not expected for one person to have all the above skillset. The job requires the basic level of understanding of the above.
The Job role would also give exposure to different career paths under the perimeter of the Industrial systems such as Industrial virtual commissioning, Digital twin concept, opportunity to develop and deploy industrial grade perception and controls programs, Industrial Digital Mockup, Robotic Simulation and Robotics Architect roles.
TOOL SKILLS:
DELMIA / 3DX (3DEXPERIENCE), MATLAB / Simulink, TIA Portal, Simatic Manager, OpenModelica, ControlBuild, C++, Python, iDMU (Industrial Digital Mockup), ROS / ROS2, OpenCV
While the above mentioned represents our current technical stack, we prioritize a growth mindset and a curious mind over mastery of any single tool. We are looking for a pro-active problem-solver who is eager to evolve alongside our technology. If you have the foundational passion for robotics, we are committed to supporting your journey in building the future of flight.
EDUCATION:
B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.E. in Mechanical / Industrial / Aeronautical/ Robotics & Automation Engineering or any related discipline
SOFT SKILLS:
Ability to work independently & in a team in a transnational environment.
Assertive communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn new skills, self-development.
Ability to work in multiple projects and drive innovation initiatives.
Strong problem solving and logical thinking ability.
Effective decision-making capabilities.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
