Instrumentation & Electrical Technician - Upstream Operations - 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Crimson Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to support upstream oil and gas operations in Colorado. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience in automation and electrical systems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, configure, and maintain PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, analyzers, and process control equipment. Support production operations by responding to equipment failures and minimizing downtime. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation and measurement equipment. Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control schematics, and loop diagrams. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and client standards. Collaborate with operations personnel, engineers, and supervisors to improve system reliability and performance.
Required Qualifications Candidates must possess experience in at least three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Journeyman Electrician certification Totalflow Allen-Bradley PLCs Modicon PLCs Scadapack Automation Experience Requirements Candidates must have direct experience with: Maintenance Troubleshooting Repair and configuration of automation and control systems. Installation-only experience will not be considered sufficient for this position.
Additional Requirements Experience supporting upstream oil and gas operations is required. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation. Experience with process control instrumentation, measurement devices, and communications systems. Strong understanding of safe work practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
Ability to work independently in remote field environments. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Dual-ticketed Journeyman Instrumentation Technician and Journeyman Electrician. Experience with production facilities, well sites, compressor stations, and tank batteries. Experience with SCADA systems and communications infrastructure. Familiarity with control valve maintenance and repair.
Experience supporting remote and unmanned production facilities.
