Division: Nucor Steel Birmingham, Inc. Location: Birmingham, AL, United States Other Available Locations: N/A Basic Job Functions: Provide electrical support through automation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Answer calls and ensure continuous operations of production lines. Perform preventive maintenance functions. Perform configuration, programming, monitoring, & troubleshooting for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), network switches, servers, and HMI workstations.

Develop and implement projects for continuous improvement. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Equivalent electrical training or military experience will be considered.

Extensive knowledge in power distribution, motor control centers, instrumentation, automated systems, PLC and HMI programming, and variable frequency drive troubleshooting in a manufacturing facility Preferred Qualifications: Two-year degree in electrical maintenance technology and three or more years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance Extensive AC & DC motors and drives experience Knowledge and experience with Power systems maintenance Extensive PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience HMI Wonderware, Factory Talk building, programming, and troubleshooting experience Basic pneumatic and hydraulicsystem knowledge ​​​​​​​ TwoTwotjffjaf Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer – M/F/Disabled/Vets – and a drug – free workplace
