Starc Automation is an industrial automation company in London, Ontario specializing in robotics, PLC/HMI programming, and system integration for manufacturing. The company is hiring a Robotics Technologist to support the design, programming, maintenance, and optimization of robotic and automated systems.

What You'll Do

  • Program and commission industrial robots, including FANUC, ABB, KUKA, UR, or equivalent platforms.
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs to integrate robotic cells with production equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on robotic systems, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, and automation equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and robot datasheets.
  • Conduct systematic fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on automation failures.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve cycle times, uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, and equipment documentation.
  • Commission new robotic cells and support automation capital projects.
  • Provide technical training to operators on robotic system use and basic troubleshooting.

What They're Looking For

  • College diploma in Robotics Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with industrial robots and automated systems in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming such as Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on robot programming experience in at least one manufacturer's language, such as FANUC TP, ABB RAPID, KUKA KRL, or UR Script.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial robot safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine vision systems or servo drive configuration.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or CAD-based design tools.
