We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Process Automation Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this key role, you will act as a technical lead on large-scale projects, from requirements definition through commissioning. You will play a central role in developing robust and innovative solutions while providing technical guidance to project team members.
As a senior engineer in the field, you will be responsible for:
Acting as a technical reference on automation projects, in collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Contributing to the design of control architectures (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and the selection of instrumentation equipment.
Supervising or performing programming, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and commissioning.
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Providing technical mentorship to junior or intermediate engineers.
Participating in technical reviews and deliverable audits.
Maintaining close communication with clients and contributing to overall client satisfaction.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Automated Production Engineering.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in industrial, agri-food, or pharmaceutical sectors.
Strong knowledge of automation platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Experion PKS, DeltaV, etc.).
Knowledge of ISA standards, machine safety, and regulated environments.
Strong communication skills, leadership, and a collaborative mindset.
Bilingualism (French/English).
Assets
Experience in project management or technical coordination.
Knowledge of MES systems or traceability solutions.
Experience with validation-constrained projects (GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
* This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as over 80% of the workload involves clients, partners, or projects located outside Québec.
