Software Developer

Requirements

We are currently looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Software Developer with a strong background in C#/.NET to join our team. In this role your primary responsibilities will be to extend existing software models by adding functionality, creating error handling functionality, building GUI components, and performing integration tests prior to deployment.

Additionally, you will be contributing to design and subsequent implementation of new software projects within a team setting. Many of these projects will involve working with industrial technologies, and will involve interaction with robotics, networks, and PLCs.

An ideal candidate will be familiar with Agile software development, understand the fundamentals of OOP, be familiar with basic Object-Oriented design patterns and architectures, be familiar with basic data structures and algorithms, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Core Skills

A candidate should be a strong match for the following criteria:

Experience:

• 2-3 years contributing to building C#/.NET applications
• Working with other programming languages, such as C++, Java, Python an asset
• Working with relational databases and SQL an asset
• Capable of building GUI components
• Strong understanding of OOP principles
• Familiarity with building Windows Forms applications
• Familiarity with TCP/IP sockets
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub
• Exposure to basic OO design patterns and architectures
• Exposure to basic data structures and algorithms

Ability to:

• Unit test, integrate, and deploy software components
• Learn new software APIs to write, enhance, or extend existing software products
• Design and develop proof-of-concept software prototypes
• Specify project requirements documents
• Create project and code documentation
• Work well both independently and within a team
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess strong interpersonal skills

Additional Skills

• Experience with making insightful analyses on large data-sets
• Experience with creating data-driven solutions for industrial products
• Experience with industrial networks
• Experience with PLCs / embedded systems / device drivers
• Experience with Linux and Shell programming

Starting wage rates/hour will follow the ranges below and will be determined based on skill and experience.
