Position Overview: The Specialist, Electrical will play an essential role in designing, building, commissioning, and operating a new greenfield advanced manufacturing facility focused on metals, alloys, and magnet production.

This unique opportunity offers involvement in shaping the future of American manufacturing. The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical enthusiast with broad knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and process equipment. The role demands collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, a deep understanding of process controls, and the ability to troubleshoot and support startup and plant operations effectively. Position Responsibilities: Perform all work safely, with zero incidents or injuries.

Assist electrical engineers by collecting accurate onsite data to support design and development efforts. Test electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, systems, and fixtures to ensure proper functionality. Perform tests on electrical circuit connections, troubleshooting digital/analog I/O, safety interlock systems, VFDs, and servo drives. Follow and help enforce strict safety protocols, including LOTOTO and Arc Flash procedures. Support construction, commissioning, startup, and ongoing operation phases.

Conduct basic mechanical assembly tasks such as bolting brackets and covers, using hand and power tools as required. Collaborate closely with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) teams to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Work alongside control specialists and technicians on control panels, PLCs, building management systems, and other critical plant equipment. Proactively identify problems, communicate solutions, and advocate for continuous improvement.

Perform other duties as assigned to support project and operational needs. Basic Qualifications: Completion of an approved Certified Electrical Program OR five (5) years' experience in industrial electrical repair and maintenance. Strong knowledge of uninterruptible power sources (UPS), diesel/gas generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and automatic/static transfer switches.

Familiarity with building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, International Building Code (IBC), NFPA, NEC, and OSHA. Hands-on approach to electrical and mechanical tasks. Sound understanding of process safety principles. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects effectively. Desired Qualities: 5+ years of electrical experience within manufacturing environments, preferably in metals, semiconductor, or chemical industries.

Knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical systems. Understanding of arc flash hazards and the proper use of electrical PPE (insulated tools, rated insulated gloves, hot sticks, FR clothing). Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and NEC standards. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints to maintain electrical systems and complete projects.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical solutions effectively across all organizational levels - from operators to management.
